Choosing a show.

What shows does John Taylor offer?

John Taylor offers Comedy Magic, Comedy Mentalist and Comedy Hypnosis stage shows. Each can be booked individually, or formats can be combined in one stage show for more variety. Close-up and roving magic is performed among guests throughout the room, with timing planned for the event size and venue.

Which show should we choose for a corporate event?

Comedy magic brings visual surprises and humour to the whole room. The mentalist show centres on mind-reading entertainment, choices and predictions. Comedy hypnosis puts your guests at the heart of the entertainment. You can combine formats in one stage show, or choose roving magic for a reception or networking event. John recommends the format around your audience, venue and running order.

How is close-up magic different from a stage show?

A stage show brings the audience together for one performance. With close-up or roving magic, John moves among guests and tables, performing sleight of hand with conversation and humour. It suits intimate functions and larger events, including corporate receptions, weddings, networking and private celebrations. Timing is planned around guest numbers and the venue layout.

Can magic, mentalism and hypnosis be combined in one show?

Yes. John can combine comedy magic, mentalism or hypnosis in one stage show, bringing different kinds of mystery, audience interaction and comedy to the same performance. Discuss the mix, running time and venue with John so the show suits your event. Cruise programmes retain their three separate 45-minute shows.

Planning your event.

How long do the shows run?

Cruise shows run for 45 minutes each. Corporate stage shows usually run for around 30 minutes. Theatre performances can be longer, with the running time agreed to suit the show and venue. Close-up magic is scheduled around guest numbers and the event programme. Confirm the length with John or the cruise booking team before booking.

What does the venue need to provide?

Requirements depend on the chosen show and venue. Share the audience size, seating layout, performance area, sound, lighting and access so John can confirm the arrangements. Hypnosis also needs suitable space and seating for volunteers. Close-up magic usually needs no stage; the layout and sound levels matter more.

Is John based in Sydney, and does he travel?

John Taylor is based in Sydney and accepts enquiries available for bookings worldwide. Include the city or country, venue and proposed dates when you enquire. Availability, travel, accommodation and production arrangements are discussed before the booking is confirmed.

Is the hypnosis show family friendly, and who can volunteer?

The comedy hypnosis show is family friendly and audiences of all ages can watch. Volunteers must be aged 18 or over, and taking part is entirely their choice. Guests who prefer to watch can enjoy the full show from their seats. Tell John about your audience so he can advise on the performance.
